Great Speakers
operating system:Windows XPThese speakers sound fantastic, I was a bit iffy at first on spending this much on a set of 2.1 speakers - however now they're setup I have no regrets. My music sounds unbelievable on these, really jaw dropping when I listened to it the first time - and they get loud enough without distortion too...
Easy to setup, nice long cables. If your a fan of bass, don't have the sub resting on carpet - make or buy something to put it on. As I'm up first reviewing these, thought I'd link to some outside reviews:

Punch well above their weight!
operating system:Windows VistaI've owned a set of these for over 3 years now. I can highly recommend these speakers which are made by a a proper hifi loudspeaker manufacturer - Acoustic Energy.
The satellite speakers are made from powdercoated steel, are supplied with wall brackets and connect via a simple phono plug style socket.
Supplied are long cables with the required terminations. plus various leads for connecting a source.
The bass unit has an integral amplifier and mains power supply. Conections are probided for three satellite speakers and AE say you can add a centre channel speaker. Frankly, this isn't neccessary.
There is a phono input and one of the supplied leads allows connection to a 3.5mm socketted source. Also on the front of the unit just below the on/off switch/volume control is 3.5mm socket. Again, AE supply a 3.5mm to 3.5mm connection lead. You can therefore connect two sources which is convenient when you don't wish to disrupt the unit to get round the back to change cables.
There's an attenuation switch for bass output which offers three settings. Ideal for when you place the unit under a desk where it can sound too boomy.
Whilst these are not hifi speakers, they go loud and clear without distortion and plenty of bass! Treble can sometimes sound a tad shrill, but then i'm comparing these to my £1400 hifi speakers. You will be very please with the performance of this system!
I have recommended these to several of my friends and the ones who took heed are all amazed at their performance. One of them even used these as a sole source of music at a party for 40 people. I thought he was mad, but the AE's did a respectable job and withsttod the battering, which is quite exraordinary given their diminutive size and price!
I really don't think there is anything else at this price point which could out do these. I have no regrets and have experienced no problems with mine. Luckily for me, mine were a lot cheaper three years ago (£90). I still think at the current price these reperesent outstanding value.

Very surprising!
operating system:Not ApplicableReally very impressed by these speakers. They sound really rather good; much better than they ought to for the money and more importantly the size.
Have some other small speakers with sub that cost many times this price and these really are outstanding in comparison. There is *slight* separation that sometimes reminds you that they're very small drivers with a sub handling bass/midbass, but no where near the level I was expecting and certainly not to an intrusive level.
Build quality is excellent too. Very heavy, exceptionally well finished and good quality connectors and controls.
All in all and absolute bargain. Now considering further sets, they're that good.
Absolutely superb!
operating system:Windows XPI have had these for 9 months now and they have been a constant delight. The sound is clean, accurate and with plently of power. The very understated syling means they melt into the background. If I were a poser I would buy a Kardon Soundsticks set, put them on the desktop but use the Aego's to listen too - they are that good. A top product
