Product Description
Each KVM cable set includes a video cable for PC's VGA connector, and a single USB 2.0 cable for the PC's USB port. From the KVM switch box, you can connect to 2 USB devices: a USB keyboard and a USB mouse. 2 sets of KVM cables are provided for ready connection to 2 computers, the remaining KVM cables are optional.
You can switch quickly between the individual client computers by pushing a button on the DKVM-4U or by pressing the hot keys on your keyboard. The KVM switch confirms the switchover with an acoustic signal, and has LEDs indicating which PC is currently being served by the console. All connected PCs are automatically scanned every 10 seconds, so your monitor, keyboard and mouse are updated whenever you switch to a selected PC. CAPS LOCK, NUM LOCK and SCROLL LOCK key's status for each computer is automatically recalled. The DKVM-4U guarantees that the client PC does not crash when it is disconnected from KVM switch box.
The DKVM-4U is capable of supporting the most demanding resolutions (VGA, SVGA and Multisync monitors) of up to 2048 x 1536 at 75Hz refresh rate (bandwidth up to 400MHz) without any noticeable degradation in image quality.

Excellent buy
operating system:Not ApplicableThe item comes with two pairs of cables, so you are already up and running with a dual-machine system without having to buy extra sets of cables.
I bought an extra two sets of cables and am now running with a KVM connection between two XP machines and a Linux box - and it works like a dream!
Well worth the outlay.

This KVM needs no power supply. It draws energy from USBs. It seems "any" of them. I have not tested fully but PowerDown/disconnect USB1 did not seem to stop it from working. This is unlike some other model I had (#92020 - not sold any more by eBuyer).
Beep is rather unpleasant piercing - but easy to get rid by Scrllock+Scrllock+B.

on connecting up as instructed my USB microsoft optical scroll-wheel intellimouse scroll wheel did not work.
tried a USB logitech scroll wheel mouse and the scroll wheel didnt work either. Was considering returning the unit but then i tried plugging the keyboard into the mouse input and mouse in the key-input.
Seemed to cure the problem.
maybe the labelling on the KVM unit is back to front?
worth a try if you get similar problems.
apart from that a great unit.
as the unit only comes with two sets of cables i bought a third set.
appears you only need a standard USB and VGA cable to add further PCs.
Worked first time
operating system:Windows XPThis is the first D_Link product I've bought which worked straight from the box without waiting ages for drivers etc. I've been using it for three months with no problems with XP, Win2K Svr and Win2003 x 2. One star lost because only two sets of cables were included and the extra cables I bought to solve this had to be slimmed down to fit the somewhat deeply recessed sockets in the case.
