For PCs to share network resources and/or Internet access without connecting with an Ethernet cable, install a wireless client adaptor in each PC. Depending on the type of interface available, you can choose from USB, PCMCIA/Cardbus or PCI wireless client adaptors. High Speed Wireless Access Compatible with the IEEE 802.11g/11b standard, ZyXEL wireless cards provide users with data rates up to 54Mbps; 5 times faster than 802.11b standard. To fight against hackers and/or unauthorized users, home wireless networks should be protected at all costs. With WPA Pre-shared key (PSK), user identity and data are protected with a secret password. Great little card. Also comes with a Low Profile bracket idle when fitting to Small Form Factor PCs
best low profile wifi card
this is one of the best budget wifi cards I have ever brought, works without installing drivers on windows 7, Good range and most importantly comes with low profile bracket which was the main reason I brought it!
Good for a novice like me!
operating system:Windows XPI have no clue with networking. I've aquired a modem router with WPA2 encryption, so needed to buy an express card to use with it. This was the cheapest one I found on Ebuyer.
It comes with simple instructions, and an installation disk, and apart from a tiny bit of help from my PC-savvy boyfriend, got it working fine - and I'm a complete novice with this type of stuff!
Signal is fine, even at the opposite end of my house.
disappointing
operating system:Windows 7As I write this there is currently no Zyxel driver available for Windows 7. I was using Windows' generic Realtek chipset driver.
This card kept periodically dropping the connection to my router. After fitting it, I noticed a severe drop in performance in bittorrent, and web browsing became sluggish.
Whilst it did work, and might give acceptable performance for users who are only going to be browsing, I wouldn't recommend this card to anyone.
