Cheap Dual Layer discs, and they work well!
operating system:Windows XPI was wary of these as they were that much cheaper than any other DL discs but after reading the good reviews I decided to take a risk.
I'm glad I did as I have burnt 5 discs already and no issues at all, I burned them using a NEC 3500 drive and they burn at 2.4x speed. I think if I got the latest firmware It would let me choose 4x (which is the NEC 3500 drives DL limit)
They may be cheap in price but the discs look fine, and the packaging is great. I've bought cake boxes of dvd's before to find that most the discs have been scratched because they have been spinning against each other while being delivered. Not the case here as the space between the top of the the discs and the lid has been filled out with a polystyrene ring so the discs do not spin about and scratch each other.
Highly recommended!
Good, cheap, & reliable
operating system:Windows VistaTheres a lot of mixed feelings with these dvds! Some say RICOHJPN-D01-67 type discs are no good in their drive whereas others, like myself, swear by them. I have bought numerous packs of these and used them for various things be it data, video, or console purposes and to be honest cant fault them!
I have the Pioneer DVR112D with v1.21 firmware and have not produced one coaster yet!!! I use Imgburn for my disc images and Nero for general purposes and both no problems. This is just a personal preference but I never burn over 6X speed.
If you backup your Xbox360 games, like I do, these work perfect. Ive tried these discs in all the different types of drives that are available in a 360 and each one read off these diss with no problems. In conclusion these are a bargain at under 60p a disc!!
Good DL DVDR
operating system:Windows XPafter using verbs for my xbox 360 game backups and trusting them i was told about these, tbh i was very skeptical about them being so cheap and would the xbox 360 actualy read them after i read loads of people on other site stating that the 360 was "FUSSY" about which media type it would read,so i placed an order for 3 packs as a trail, ive now burnt over 100 of these discs for personal back up of games and movies and had 3 unreadable disc's ( which is less than i had with the more exspensive verbs )they are outstanding dual layer disc's im using a HP1035d dl burner and they burn upto 8 speed but i usual burn at 2-2.4 speed as it gives a longer lasting backup well worth the money and imo better than other dl media costing 10x's the price
get em before they sell out
Changing burning software solved incompatability
operating system:Windows XPI bought a spindle of these on the off chance of a bargain.
My LG GSA-4120B, LG GSA-4167B and Lite-On LH2A1H all failed to recognise the discs initially, even with latest firmware installed.
Before complaining about imcompatible discs I invested in a Pioneer DVR-115D (newer version of the Pioneer DVR-112D recommended)
Pioneer DVR-115D displayed the same problems as older writers.
Being unwilling to accept defeat easily and give a bad review of both the discs and new writer, I tried an alternative burning program and found Nero 7 to be the problem rather than the discs.
LG GSA-4120B, LG GSA-4167B, Lite-On LH2A1H and Pioneer DVR-115D all worked perfectly when used with DVD Decrypter.
More reviews of alternative burning software might be helpful before any further 'incompatable' posts are made.
Might even save others buying a new writer that turns out to be unnecessary, as in my case.
Having used half a spindle proving their worth, I need to order a few more while I can still grab a bargain.
