This HDD IS quiet
operating system:Windows XPI disagree with the 1st comment. This HDD IS much quieter than the replaced Hitachi HD from my laptop.
My laptop is used day and night and the difference between the old and the new one in terms of sound is quite evident.
A well recommended upgrade.
Excellent upgrade
operating system:Windows XPI have recently fitted this drive to my Compaq Evo N610C as a replacement for the original 30GB drive. No problems at all with fitting it and it is very much quieter than the old drive so with 4 times the capacity a very worthwhile upgrade. One word of caution, don't attempt the task unless you have the correct (very small) cross head and torx screwdrivers.

Great improvement
I replaced the hard disk drive on an iBook G4. Sweet as a nut. Very quiet.
So good I have just ordered another one for my wife's Acer laptop.
