Excellent
operating system:Windows XPIt's so straightforward and easy to set up. I just can't be bothered with Vista yet.

Excellent operating system.
operating system:Windows XPI have tried three versions of Vista - Basic, Business & Ultimate. I found that they are very resource hungry and far less user friendly than XP Pro. This is a marvellous operating system and is difficult to see that it can be bettered.
Not suitable for an upgrade from Home

Matured Cheese
operating system:Windows XPWindows XP has had time to mature like a fine cheese.
With Service Pack 3 (SP3) it contains the latest security features and upgrades.
XP works better with laptops vs Vista as it consumes far less battery life allowing you to carry on with your work for longer.
Compared to Vista it works very well with older and low budget hardware without the need to buy any upgrades. It will work well with new hardware, however, any modern gamers will not get the optimum performance from their hardware. Especially as there is no further development of DirectX for XP.
If you have some older games and software XP will allow you to run them without the need for additional modifications or emulation software.
