Cheap and good
operating system:Windows XPI bought this yesterday while it was going for 2.50, and I've been using it since then. I've been getting at least 15MB/s between two devices, so it seems to be working just fine!
There's no need to spend much more than this for a simple ethernet port, unless you really want to achieve 100MB/s.
They do the job just fine!

The use the Realtek 8139 chipset so they are supported by most operating systems out of the box.
Might look into purchasing the 1Gbps version due to the limitation of transfer speed. 100Mbps/8=12.5MB/s.
Recommended for home desktop pcs, or workstations.

The biggest problem was finding the drivers, which aren't where the information on the back of the packet says that they are...
I found them at http://www.tenda.hk/drivers/drivers.html, but there are several versions here. The one that worked (for me) was for Tenda model TEL9939DI. It arrived in the form of an archive file 8139new.zip. Once installed Windows reports the card as being the RealTek L8139 family, which it is.
The product works really well once installed, but I can only give it two stars because of the problems I had finding drivers for it. It was a lot harder than it should be...
