Quiet and stout
operating system:LinuxThis is a nice HSF, the fixings are simple and easy and it is quiet.
Fitted ok on an an A8N-SLI Premium - if your ram is a bit large (heatspreaders etc..) you may find the tips of the heatpipes just grazing them as I did but its fine.
Very quiet and efficient
operating system:Windows 7Got this cooler as part of a Home Theatre PC Build. Fits neatly inside the low profile Antec Fusion 350 case and operates extremely quietly cooling a Core 2 Duo E6750 - even on full load. CPU temp never exceeds 45C, but normally sits around 39C in general use (36C idling).
I found fitting the heatsink very straightforward with the motherboard removed from the case.
Highly recommended if you want a quiet cooler.
Brilliant piece of kit
operating system:Windows XPFirstly to answer the previous question, this fits to the original fan mountings: it does not have to be screwed to the mobo.
Fitting on an AMD mounting is almost frighteningly easy. Apply a layer of thermal paste, fit the appropriate clips from the box to the heat sink. Position the unit, close up the tool free fittings, connect it to the CPU fan header. Job done.
I've used one to replace the whiney stock cooler on an old socket 754 Sempron pc that I have turned into a server. Now in order to hear any sound from that pc I have to put my ear right against it.
The other is on a socket AM2+ A-bit mobo cooling an Athlon II x3 435 and is presently running flat out, but again is silent.
For anything up to a dual core I'd recommend this wholeheartedly. For a triple core it is ok provided you have good airflow thru the case and don't work the CPU too hard for long periods. I think it would struggle with a quad core, but then use its big brother, the Zippang.
For ease of installation. silence, value for money I'd rate this the best fansink I have used. For preference i'd buy only OEM CPUs and use Shurikens to cool them.
Five stars is the max on here, but I'd give it ten if I could.
Good HTPC Cooler
operating system:Windows 7Just installed this into my silverstone GD05 case to replace a Zalman Cnps7500cu which was just too noisy for me.
Fitting was very easy compared to the Zalman on an Intel 1156 MB and took no time at all.
Temps are also on a par with the Zalman and best of all it's a lot quieter and takes up less space.
