Hauppauge HD-PVR Hardware Capture and Recorder Product Description
HD PVR is the world’s first High-Definition video recorder for making real-time H.264 compressed recordings at resolutions up to 1080i. HD-PVR records component video (YCrCb) from cable TV and satellite set top boxes, with a built-in IR blaster to automatically change TV channels for scheduled recordings. Audio is recorded using AAC.
The recording format is AVCHD, which can be used to burn Blu-ray DVD disks. Two hours of HD recordings, recorded at 5 Mbits/sec, can be burnt onto a standard 4.7 GByte DVD-R or DVD-RW disk for playback on a Blu-ray DVD player.
The HD PVRs amazing recording quality allows personal archival of your favorite high definition TV programs from any component video HD set top box. The HD PVR also has standard definition composite and S-Video inputs so you can record your old home video tapes into an AVCHD format for creating Blu-ray DVD recordings.

Tested with Vista and SkyHD
operating system:Windows VistaThis product is superb.
It does indeed record HD from sources such as Sky+ in glorious DD 5.1 It has querks in the way you use it and you need to install updates such as a new CaptureModule.zip from ArcSoft to get it all to work properly.
Install from CD, update drivers to V1.1 from Hauppauge. Next let the software TME do it's auto update then download:

Secondly, replace the files under the path:
c:Program FilesArcSoftTotalMedia ExtremeTotalMedia Studio MV
The result is superb M2TS files to backup your movies etc.
Buy it and you will not regret it.

operating system:Windows VistaAs long as you have the component cables, this device is highly recommended for recording up to 1080i (although I use 720p for gaming captures).
The pass through for video and sound is brilliant.

is this worth buying for a ps3 if yes then do i need to buy anything esle with it or will it all come in one?
Xbox 360 use.
Hi, was just wondering if i bought this item, would i have to buy any other cables or anything like that for me to record my gameplay on xbox 360 in colour and with sound.
