Good Quality Office Printer
operating system:Windows 2000Brought this printer for a client of mine and so far they're impressed - mainly for the speed of printing documents (so I'm told)! Setting the printer up via the network wasn't too much hassle and you don't have to use the CD to install it either (even though the labels insists you do) as long you have the drivers handy. The only tricky bit I've had on that day was finding out the DHCP assigned IP address of the printer (since I didn't have the username/password codes to access the router)!
Once you've found out the IP address of the printer, the web-based configuation was straight-forward to use. Not a lot of options admittly but enough to satify what I wanted to do. I do recommend that you set a static IP address rather than the DHCP assigned method as DHCP IP addresses do change often.
Just one note, if you're installing the printer on the network with Windows 2000 platforms (which I did), do not install the printer via the Network option in Add Printer dialog but click on Local Port and add a new Standard TCP/IP Port. Then type in the IP address in the server / host box and then select the printer driver (I also recommend that you download the latest drivers from HP's website rather than using the CD as they are often out of date).
When you purchase this printer, I would get the HP 920XL ink cartridges since the ones that come with this printer are introductory / trial cartridges and will run out quickly.
So overall, a good printer that prints when it's told and will produce quality documents whenever it is required.
