Good little modems
operating system:Not ApplicableThese modems are a big improvement over D-Link's earlier DSL-300/320T modems which suffer big time with routing table/memory leak issues in the firmware.
I've used these in both PPPoA (Standard) and PPPoE bridging mode and never really had an issue with them. I supply these to my customers all the time, and have several plugged into the back of Cisco ASA's running in PPPoE mode. They just work. There's no 2 ways about it.
In reply to previous comments regarding DHCP, yes, they do DHCP even in bridging mode. There was also a flaw (some might say) in the older modems that when you put them into bridging mode, you couldn't get into the admin console if you wanted to, say, change the mode back, or check the DSL line status - you had to factory reset it. These modems still hand out a 192.168.1.x IP address when they're not connected, and depending on the router you connect it to, will still allow you access to the admin screen, even when it's connected in PPPoE mode. This allows you to check the DSL line status, among other things (granted, not much, since it's just a modem!). It's a feature by design. PPPoE modes in routers and on PC's will take over the IP address and fetch the external address(es) when it establishes an LCP connection with it.
All in all, a good, cheap little bit of kit. Still D-Link, which I'm not a big fan of, but I find it hard to find another, decent and reliable ADSL ethernet modem.
Perfectly fine
operating system:Windows 7This modem work perfectly as id expected, works well with my cable router and directly connect to my pc.
Also stopped responding since i plugging it in a couple of months ago, so still running strong
Well Pleased
operating system:Windows 7Loaded the CD, Connected the Modem. "Presto", It was that simples.
Not For Use With A Router!
Dont buy this modem if you intent to use it with a router,
it is a great fast modem when connected to a PC but because of its hashed up method of half bridging it will not work well with a router....
you have been warned!
