HTPC Heaven Part 2
operating system:Windows XPAn excellent card, finally giving me HD audio from blu rays!
Asus thoughtfull include both low profile and normal height back plates. Irritatingly, even tho this is sold as 'slim' or 'low profile' you have to remove the full height plate and swap in the lo-pro one! Make sure you have a very small philips head handy...
Also, word of warning - had a heck of a job getting my HTPC to work with my amp - turned out to be a duff HDMI cable.
Second word of warning - you cannot use really chunky HDMI cables with this card as the in and out ports are a bit too close together.
Asus bundles Arcsoft Total Media Theatre with this. It's only version 2, but this plays back my blu-rays and is happy to pass through bitstreams of HD audio, so I can't see the need to upgrade at the moment.
All in all, apart from the couple of niggles above, excellent.
