The unit is a two drive NAS solution that can be configured in RAID 0 for performance or RAID 1 for redundant storage. In addition to the storage capabilities, stream multimedia to a PC, a Mac, a Buffalo™ LinkTheater™ and other DLNA CERTIFIED™ or UPNP media player, as well as sharing movies, photos and documents in a home or small business network via the Internet with the WebAccess feature. Great prodcut
operating system:Windows VistaI've been running the device (my 1st NAS) for just over a week now and have to say I'm very impressed.
Initially I bought this as purely a storage device with DLNA support and it was the best offering of mirrored 2Tb drives I could find. What I didn't expect was it to also be a compitant Web and MySQL server.
I work as a WIMP developer, so have all of this in 1 box is incredibly useful, and it uses Active Directory groups to control who sees what, which make administration easy.
I'm yet to find a fault with it and whole heartedly recommend it.
Glad I bought when I did
operating system:Not ApplicablePurchased back in September, it was recertified but nevertheless. Less than half the price they are now, £116+VAT!
Either way, it's run 24/7 without being switched off since September and there have been no problems at all. Perfect for what I need. Stores all of my movies (inc lots of HD ones), TV and music and is constantly being read from and written to, it doesn't make much noise at all and heat wise, you wouldn't know it's even on.
Couldn't recommend enough, although the price is now far too steep to buy a second one now I've almost filled the 4tb
