i gota give it 9/10
hi guys and n gals i just baught this router just recentley and got to say its fast easy to use and setup coz me my self is a novice in tech so i knew wat to setup n optmise my browsing plus i like the option to have ur usb powerd fash or hdd drive act as a netwrk hdd all u have to do is plug in via the usb port thats integreted and let the router config it self and all you have to do is log in to the router via the drop down menu and just give it password and username for security reasons and plus i just replaced my old huawei hg520b which the wireless was not coping anymore but after setting up i just love it plus my xbox streams without a glitch
Cheap and very chearful
operating system:Windows 7I recently bought one of these for a customer over in Bournemouth i configured the router before going over there and plugged an play the layout is the traditional Netgear layout very easy to use and set up. i also set up a second SSID for the Bnb side of the house and securely set the router up as all of the DGN models the router stays cool best set standing up right to get maximum cooling.
the router is also ADSL2+

Netgear Wireless-N 300 Model DGN2200 ADSL+ Router
operating system:Windows 7I'm very happy with the device. The only things I can grip about is the speed of response for the majority of the config changes. Having to wait for the router to reboot at every turn is a little annoying. Having said that, once the router is configured it's not a problem. The only other gripe is another minor one, and that's the lack of a 'Test' button on the EMail configuration. Having set up the various configuration elements on the EMail Notification menu, there's no way to see if you've done it correctly except to wait for a message to go through to the target e-mail account. Being able to send a test message using the configuration you've set would be useful.
For more advanced users, it's a great device. The wizard supplied with the device needed some tweaking however, so a novice user may have a little difficulty. For that reason it gets a four star rather then five star rating. It says on the box that it's specifically designed for BT connections, and it certainly works on BT Lines. It won't work with BT straight out of the box though.
In conclusion then, I think the Netgear DGN2200 ADSL2+ router is a workmanlike device for a reasonable price, easily configured, secure and with a couple of interesting features that make it well worth the extra bit of cash. I like it.
Telnetting impossible
I don't know how Pete above me did this, maybe he can answer, but I can't seem to be able to enable telnet, and Netgear have told me this is not possible.
