Great product at great price!
operating system:Windows 7Needed an updated HDD with faster SATA interface and with higher storage capacity than my Raid 0 2xMatrox 200GB Sata 1 setup.
This hard drive answered my question,
1TB Storage,
7200Rpm disk spin speed,
SATA 2 300 GB/s interface,
Very Quiet operation,
Feels solid.
Was worth every penny!
I did find that after comparing with my RAID 0 setup that this Hitachi Deskstar 0S02573 HD was slightly slower than my RAID 0 Setup, doesn't bother me that much as the 7200rpm spin cycle makes up for performance.
Whereas my RAID 0 setup is made up with 2 x 200 GB Matrox Diamond 10 5400rpm SATA 1 150 GB/s HDD and once paired in RAID 0, I get about 379.84GB just about 400 GB in total.
But the annoying problem I found with all Matrox HDD is that they tent to grind when in operation which I found totally loud especially at Night times plus their life cycle doesn't last that long.
Hitachi made a really great promising HDD here and I would be purchasing more future products from them due to their outstanding quality.

Good drive
operating system:Windows VistaThis drive comes in a retail package, the package includes ; the drive, screws & a manual. You also get a three year warranty (so it says on the box)
The drive is quiet most of the time but every now and then it has a little chug so you know its still alive, most of the noise is drowned out by my fans so not really an issue. Its seems quite quick. It is a lot better then my green Western Digital.
Good Value
operating system:Windows XPIt is too early to talk about reliability but this HD compares well with Samsungs and if my recent experience with Seagates are anything to go by will probably out live both of those (seagate) drives.
The Deskstar is very solid in construction and quiet as well. It also runs cool in my system at about 32C with only minimal cooling from my case fans.
I hope to add reliability to the list of this hard drives attributes in the fullness of time and will post if any problems appear.
Excellent value for high quality
operating system:LinuxThis is in a Media Center case in my living room and I haven't noticed any significant noise levels. Does what it says on the tin, well worth every penny.
