Good Little Caddy.
operating system:Windows 7For the price this is a great little caddy if you have a spare 2.5" drive laying around.
I have 2 WD1200BEVS 120Gb Sata Laptop drives, that i've had lying around for a few months.
I brought 2 caddies, as at this price i thought there's not much to loose.
Caddies arrived next day (even though i ordered at about 3:30 on a Sunday. Well done Ebuyer), and they are thin. Only just thicker than the drives. Will fit in a back pocket/inside coat pocket without a huge bulge.
Come supplied with...
A dual to single USB cable (in case the caddy needs some extra juice from a second USB Port)
Small phillips screwdriver.
Little Leather look wallet, and the caddy.
Assembly was easy. Just open the caddy, clip the drive in and screw closed.
Plugged into PC (using only one USB port and Windows 7 64bit found and installed it straight away.
After formatting the drives they were ready to use.
So far i have done a little playing, and they are a little slow.
The WD 120Gb drive are SATA150, 5400rpm. which isn't super fast. but 19 Video files (totalling 6Gb) have taken over an hour to copy onto it.
Small files though are very quick at reading and writing. 127 Jpeg pictures Average size 3000 x 2000, copied in less than 30 seconds.
My Xbox360 and PS3 detected the caddy straight away, and there were no problems with playback of video files.
I will try and post a quick result of my findings.
Pros
Cheap.
Very Slim and Small.
No external power required.
Cons
Slow at large files (this could be my drives)
Get HOT! (All aluminium casing gets very toasty if drive running for long periods)
Verdict..
Great little Caddy. Very useful if you want to keep a backup of important data, or want to store movies for playback on a Console.
Go buy one.

Does the job
operating system:Windows 7Decided to buy one of these several months ago when I bought a 60GB SSD Drive for my ageing Dell Notebook. The Notebook had a 80GB SATA drive and I wanted to be able to use it to store documents that I did not need on the high cost SSD drive. Does the job. Its reasonably fast and one good thing I found about it is that is does a pretty decent job on power management, which for a machine on batteries is important. It doesnt take too long to come out of standby when needed as well, so for the price you cant go wrong. Since my drive its 80GB only I cant tell from experience, but I believe it says on the description the max size it can hadle is 320GB. Not sure about this, but if you have a bigger drive, Id recommend you check before buying.

operating system:Mac OSXI bought this enclosure to recover data from an unbootable 120GB MacBook drive. Package arrived very quickly with free delivery (thanks eBuyer).
Unpacked, disk removed from MacBook and inserted in the caddy. The SATA connector was VERY stiff to insert, and I was a little concerned I might damage the slightly flimsy-feeling board. With a bit of wiggling, it fitted snugly but I was pretty nervous while doing that.
Only reason it's not 5 stars is the slightly low build quality as mentioned above and by another reviewer (i.e. you might want to pad the enclosure slightly, but be aware that this might cause heat to build-up), but you get what you pay for.

Must try harder
operating system:Windows 7Not a bad caddy for the price, but it has imho a couple of flaws. Firstly the hard drive is only held by the SATA connector and can move up and down in the caddy, potentially shorting the drive PCB to the case. I fixed this with a bit of cardboard, as padding, from the box it came in. Secondly it uses a USB A connector to connect to the cable, this is against the USB code as they should only be used on the master device, i.e. the PC! It does however come with a cable so it is usable, but it is short. So a good effort guys, but must try harder.
