Excellent
operating system:Windows 7I picked this up for around £55. Performance is very solid for an external USB2 HDD.
HD Tune pro reports read at 34 MB/s and an access time of 17 ms.
Real world write tests:
680 meg (single file) ~ 30 seconds. [22 MB/s]
2.2 gig (400+ mp3 files) ~ 2 minutes [18 MB/s]
Browsing the drive in windows explorer feels snappy and it wakes up very quickly after plugging it in.
This drive uses the new Y USB cable but does not require both to be connected on a well powered USB port.
Works on PS3 as FAT32 formatted
I picked this up for just under £51.
This 640GB has 596GB usable and is already FAT32 formatted so you can use it straight away on your PS3.
It comes with a double USB cable but you can just use a simple one.
The unit is rather small and the surface appears like it would scratch easily so I advise you to get a cover for it if you are precious about things!

operating system:Windows 7As one the cheaper drives on the site and a decent size, i went for it even though i knew nothing about the brand the reviews were decent.
I will state that the double usb connection is inconvenient, as having 2 free slots can be difficult with alot of latops only offering 3 lately. I haven't tried nor do i need to try using just one, but another reviewer said it works. I will say i'm very impressed with how easily it was picked up by my revo, my buffalo 250gb drive is damn annoying to get connected. Maybe this is the benefit of the second usb, one's left to power while the other does the work, who knows, but its great to have a drive thats picked up straight away. Even wakes with revo which the buffalo drive doesn't. Maybe mine was dodgy but its my only other usb powered drive, previous ones were always mains powered.
Speeds seem reasonable, i transfered 33gb in about 20mins, to be honest i dont know if thats good or bad, but i have no complaint about it anyway.
Overall great little drive, due to the two usb connection may limit portability for some, but it looks great and so far so good after a week. Oh and the usb lead is fairly short, so i hope you have easy access to your usb slots on your pc, personally my spare ones at the back tend to have entention leads in them already for easier access when i need them, it may be a good idea to buy 2 yourself for this
