Please note: networking components such as Powerline adapters require that all adapters must work within the same HomePlug standard to remain compatible, for example HomePlug AV (HPAV) adapters with communicate with other HPAV Powerline components, regardless of whether they are 200Mbps or 500Mbps. Older 85Mbps adapters work on the different HomePlug 1.0 standard & are not compatible with HomePlug AV adapters.
All Powerline products will connect to any switch or router Ethernet port. Powerline adapters can be used with extension leads (except surge protection ones), and will work across different ring mains so long as they share a common fuse box. Great Product
I plugged in one of this near my Virgin Hub, connected the ethernet cable between the hub and this. I then connected one of this near my PC, connected the ethernet cable between the PC and this, and that's all I've done. Didn't install any software and it works great.
Does what it says on the tin
operating system:Not ApplicableI previously owned the Extra Value 200mbps powerplugs, which 18 months down the line have stopped working.
I bought these Thursday morning priced £49.98 with free delivery and they came the day after. Setup is easy, just plug one RJ45 cable between your router and one homeplug, and the other RJ45 cable between the other homeplug and your PC.
The software does not work if you are running a switch. I have a 5 port switch and because my network card is plugged into the switch and not the homeplug the software doesnt find it, so I cant run tests on how the speeds work.
My CD drive stopped working so I extracted the files elsewhere and I have taken steps to upload them online for anyone else needing them, this software supports plugs using chip GGL541

So basically it works as expected with nothing to report, it does the job its supposed to, lets just hope these Extra Value ones last longer than the previous ones!

There is a 30 day premium option available but is it worth it? I'd rather put that money towards a new CD drive!!

operating system:Not ApplicableBought these and had them delivered Friday 20th. Can't speak highly enough. Except that they've just been reduced by £10 after I bought them!! Damn!
Anyway, the install was a breeze (didn't need the software as my router isn't visible to the software). Conducted a speed test on www.speedtest.net and getting a rock solid 30mbs. I previously only had about 15mbs with wireless, which was fast, but when you're paying for a 30mbs service then thats what you want.
Can't quite see the point in using wireless when you can use these. Wireless will never be as fast unless they drastically improve the technology.
