I bought a Buffalo 1TB external Hard Drive (HD-CEU2 1TB DriveStation) 2-3 years ago for the first time. Before purchasing this, I had read reviews of many external hard drives failures, although I can't remember reading any adverse comments about Buffalo. Almost 3 years have passed but the Buffalo has been going strong - I felt obliged to drop a line of appreciation.
Comments on the back-up software that comes with the Drive: Most external drives come with "Proprietry format" back-up bundled software, as far as I know, just like Buffalo. I had read reviews of consumers who did not like using bundled backup software that comes with the drives. My experience has been the same. I started using it then abandoned it after a few months. I use other backup software, together with MS-backup as a tertiary backup.

operating system:Windows 7Bought this to go with other external drives I have - ( Freecomm and WD) Liked the look of the drive and the 1TB storage.
Sadly only lasted 3 months complete failure of the drive.
