I believe it's the best value iPad you can buy today, as it'll run everything the new iPad (4) does virtually as quickly and I don't care that the screen is said to be not as good - it's stunning when compared with the majority of PC and laptop monitors. Battery life is also impressive.

The camera is virtually useless. 0.92 megapixels. Yes, 8 times worse than the iPhone 4S which shares virtually every other hardware specification with the iPad 2. Sure it does the job for FaceTime, but don't bother taking pictures with it. Also the auto-lock feature sometimes glitches when you cover the sides up and it locks when you're trying to use it because you put your hand in the wrong place.

The iPad is brilliant for e-mail and surfing the web and I also use it for basic office-type applications. The display on the iPad 2 (this model) is not as good as the retina display on the iPad 3 or 4 but I don't use it for films etc and is fine for general use. I've never been a fan of Apple until I got my first iPhone and now I wouldn't be without my iPad!
