operating system:Windows 7shopped around for a 3d monitor for a while finally settled on this after trying out an LG Cinema 3d tv in currys an i think its amazing its easy to use an switch between 2d an 3d content no need to really adjust stuff apart from in the odd game the glassses are great the build quality is great an the screen and 3d is brilliant i use it for xbox and my pc and have found it quick and responsive as well as crystal clear also played and watched alot of 3d content for extended periods with out any eye fatigue early christmas present of my girlfriend an id recommend it to anyone
Very nice entry level display
operating system:Windows 7I have tested the display from PC to HDMI and DVI. Both gave good results after a tweak or two from my graphics drivers, but DVI looks better/sharper IMOH.
I have tested the display with Spears and Munsil high definition benchmark tools and it is spot on in every test. Some adjustment was required within my graphics drivers (ATI) to get the contrast/brightness etc just right.
3d movie playback (Bluray) is pretty good however this is my first experience with 3d, so have nothing to compare it with.
The TriDef 3d software is easy to setup (grab the latest version from the tridef download page). This gives you the ability to convert 2D video/DVD to 3D along with photos and is also where you launch your games in 3D (assuming your graphics card/s can handle the extra work load). The 2D to 3D conversion of movies/DVDs is very impressive.
I will mostly use the display in 2D (via DVI) for my PC, and 3D (via HDMI) for my PS3.
Having tested a load of PS3 games (approx 28) that have support for 3d, some look outstanding (Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Ridge Racer, Crysis 1/2) and some look rubbish (Pain, Invincible Tiger, Flight Control).
For a 23" passive display its has a cracking display and effective 3D mode. If you are on a budget and want a nice 1080p passive LED 3D display.... this is the one !!!
My only gripe is a lack of auto switching between inputs.
Oh, and it comes with 2 glasses, 1 regular and 1 clip on.
Intro to 3D gaming
operating system:Windows 7Brought this monitor to replace an old Samsung SM2253BW 22" LCD Monitor and the jump to a HD monitor is amazing (as good as upgrading your graphics card :D)
Also the 3D is awesome, both for PC and PS3 gaming. Games I have tried on PC: World of Warcraft, Black Ops, BF3. All of these we're nice especially WoW ^^. Games I have tried on PS3: Wipeout HD, Uncharted 3. Again both looked amazing in 3D.
I have no doubt that the more expensive Nvidia 3D monitors would be better but if you're looking for a cheap and still good quality introduction to 3D gaming then this monitor is a must!

*3D ready - Requires polarized light to produce stereoscopic image projection that comes out of the screen when used with a polarized 3D glass and software but requiring 2 eyes to create the illusion.
*The 60 Hz monitor limits to 60 FPS and 3D mode splits into 30 Hz to each eye and 30 Hz = 30 fps. Movies are commonly 23.976 fps / 24p and by reducing the refresh rate to 24 or 48 Hz for 3D or for 25p - 25 or 50 Hz for 3D can prevent ghosts or blurs. (1000/60 Hz=16.67ms) Also human eyes cannot see flickers after 72fps (1000/72 fps= 13.88ms), can perceive above 100 fps (unknown by far), responds to visual changes in ~16 ms and stores image after 42ms. (1000/24 Hz =41.67ms)
*Dynamic contrast ratio tunes the backlit automatically based on the scenes darkness (not the pixels individually) and lowers the 250cd/m2 brightness value to the rooms luminance else may need to manually tune it. (DCR mostly for movies)
*1000:1 contrast ratio is sufficient for PC colour-critical applications and 0.265 pixel pitch (lower the better) for fine detail of pixels or text in higher resolutions.
*8 bit colour depth = 16.7m colours; 10 bit AVC or Photos require 10 bit colour depth or 1.07 billion colours monitor. (Human eyes have not yet been measured to exceed millions of colours at Kelvin 6400, unless it's women with Tetrachromacy with 100m)
*5 ms g2g response time does not benefit the overall frame and it's still bound to the 16.67ms.
