As the name implies, Define Mini is the smaller sibling of the acclaimed and award winning Define R2/R3 case. Being a Micro ATX version of Define R2/R3, it offers a number of interesting functions with a very stylish appearance. It's a case focused on low noise level, without neglecting other important features such as cooling, expandability and ease of use. The Define Mini excels in including a lot of features in a small size!
The patent pending feature ModuVent™, in which you can choose whether to have fan slots in side and top panels open or not, makes the case appealing for users seeking optimal silence, as well as the performance hungry ones.
The sleek black interior is matched with pre-fitted, dense noise absorbing material on the side panels, efficiently absorbing noise and vibrations. You can fit an astonishing total of six(!) hard drives into this case, using the user friendly HDD-trays. All painted in a nice white color and using black silicone mounts. PSU is mounted in the bottom of the case, with a convenient pull-out filter beneath it.

First class quality
operating system:Windows VistaYou can find lots of black cases for £20 so why pay £85 for this one?
The build quality of this case is the best I have ever seen. No sharp edges or thin metal. This case has everything you could want. Every mounting point has rubber zones to stop vibrations, all inlets have foam air filters (no more dust in your computer), all walls have acoustic liners.
There are wire holes in the case to help with cables that have to pass over the motherboard and the exhaust fan is in the right place. In my old box my CPU ran at 60C, in this case with a new fan it runs at just 36C.
Worth every penny . . . add it to the basket now
A well designed case with a lot to offer.
operating system:Windows 7Well, this is my first review, I'm essentially going to get things summed up into the good parts and the relatively bad parts of this case.
I must say, I have always been an mATX enthusiast, it's something about the form factor I simply prefer.
Firstly, the graphics card fit perfectly into this case, which was an HD6870 of quite a width and height, and so I was very pleased.
The acoustic shielding on this case is top notch, this case is whoppingly heavy, which mostly attributes to the acoustic shielding.
The fan at the back of the case reverses air flow away from the case, to draw air from the system, top notch thought there. And of course, the front fan blows on the top HDD cage, pushing a little more cool air around the system.
Everything's nice and silent, anti-vibration rubber stoppers and the likes just about everywhere in this system.
For SSD enthusiasts, yes, this is automatically compatible with SSDs. There are screw holes to mount your 2.5" drive straight into the 3.5" tray, which you can easily access, pull in and out.
The design isn't flimsy at all, and the included IO is impressive. There are A LOT of screws, more than you'd ever need, and they are all neatly packaged. I secured almost all my components with thumb screws. Lovely thought there, very easy to move things around now.
Now moving onto a few of the bad points. I'm afraid to say that the rubber 'flaps' to route cables through were ridiculously tedious. I would put a cable through and *pop* it'd come straight out, and prove a frustrating task to put back in. Just an unfortunate annoyance, really.
Secondly, I forewarn any user that this case requires thought beforehand. Many of it's features include parts you will have to unscrew in order to attach components, such as SSDs.. 3.5" drives and the likes. Be careful with your cabling, as with all mATX cases, it's very difficult to route things around properly. Most people give up, even with modular power supplies, I know I did.
In summary, fantastic case, love the fact everything's so easily extractable, love the design.. The weight's frustrating, slightly, but I don't intend to move my desktop very often. Couple of little feature errors as noted above, but that won't take away from a five star design, however, something I would expect to just be glued on for £75!
Good case, but recommend Define R3 over this
operating system:Windows 7I wasn't entirely happy with the delivery, it did arrive on the day in the end, but had to call the courier several times to ensure this as the packages arrived a day prior to my arranged date when I was not in. As a result wasted around £5 because of call charges.
For the case itself. In summary, it IS the mini version of R3. Hence the pros and cons carry over from the R3.
But, there are extra pros&cons I'd like to point out.
Pros
1. Larger space behind motherboard tray for cabling compared to R3
2. Accommodates larger graphic cards than R3 due to removable HDD bay
Cons
1. Horizontally placed fan controller above expansion slots - I had difficulties fitting screws for the expansion cards and also for the fan controller itself due to very little space between the components. If you have large fingers, it can be a nightmare to install cards to the case. It would've been better if the case had a 5th expansion slot for this purpose as it would also allow dual graphic card configuration as well.
2. Not that much smaller than R3. As a matter of fact, this m-atx case was as big as my old (terrible) ATX case 330 Elite, if not slightly larger. To put this in negative light, it is basically an ATX case that only accommodates M-ATX&miniITX form factors.
If you have no plan to install large graphic cards longer than 290mm, go for the ATX brother, R3. Considering functionality vs size benefits, the R3 is far more superior than this case.
