Great for a low power system
operating system:LinuxI got these as part of my media centre PC so I can store my huge collection of music and pictures. I wasn't expecting them to be fast since they are only 5400rpm, but their performance has been surprisingly good so far. I also chose these for their energy efficiency since they are likely to be on most of the time but only with very low activity.
I have two of these as part of my system running as a RAID1 and the performance is great. I always advise people to do this where possible. Since I am storing all of my family photos on here, I think the extra cost of buying an additional drive is worth it compared to the headache of having a head crash on my only drive and losing everything!
good product
operating system:Windows 7I bought this HDD when it was at £33. Its huge 750GB captivity is grate, it scores 5.9 on windows experience index. however the download speeds aren't the best. but that can be expected as it is 5400 RPM. how ever i can not fault it for its original price, mine took windows 7 34 bit with no problems, it took almost an hour to download which is not particularly good, as i said above.
