Good features for the price
operating system:Windows 7I've looked everywhere for a cheap Z68 motherboard and this is one of the best candidates.
This motherboard costs around £10 or so (prices change every so often) more than the Z68-A-D3-B3 which is essentially the same except that this one has an onboard HDMI port.
Current prices for socket 1155 mobos are approx:
Low end: £50-60
Mid range: £80-100
High end: £120+
This fits in the mid range nicely and it offers better value as most mid range boards have H67 or P67 chipsets, whereas this one has the Z68 which supports overclocking the K series CPUs, on-chip graphics and intel's SSD caching feature (SRT).
It sports other future proof stuff like USB 3.0, SATA 3, crossfire if you want to add another card later (albeit at PCI-E 4x but hey it's a cheap mobo)
Warning about using onboard graphics:
I should warn potential buyers about one thing that isn't the mobos fault at all but rather Intel's.
If you plan on using the on-chip graphics from the Sandy Bridge processors, they will NOT work, the drivers are apparently hit and miss with certain motherboards and display adapters, this mobo has an HDMI and VGA, I've only tried HDMI but it most certainly causes crashes when installing the Intel drivers, I have tried all versions on Windows 7 x64, on the pre-installed BIOS as well as the latest.
It does work with standard VGA drivers but you won't get the horsepower of the Intel HD 3000.
All in all it's a solid motherboard that you can buy now and save up for future components as it won't be outdated any time soon. You can buy a small SSD to use as a cache if you don't want to spend on a large SSD drive.
It is USB 3 and SATA 3 ready when devices are readily available.
It's just a shame that you will need to buy a dedicated graphics card as the on-chip graphics has problems.

operating system:Windows 7I bought this product from ebuyer on the 30th of August received it, a few days later.
The product works amazingly well and supports the i5 2500k's onboard graphics as it is a Z68 chipset motherboard.
It has a built in HDMI connection and the onboard sound quality is amazing. Installation of the motherboard to cases is amazingly simple.

Audio is very low as my camera has a faulty mic, so you will need to turn it up.

operating system:Windows 7This arrived today and fitted with i5 2500k, 8gb Corsair DDR3. Build was really relaxed and problem free. A noticeable upgrade from a Core2Duo.
The board has a fairly nice layout. My board had version F1 BIOS. F6 is the most recent at time of typing! Easy to update, so no problem.
I've never owned a GIGABYTE board personally, but I have to say the build quality is of a good standard. I'm guessing Foxconn by the smell. It's no Abit, Sapphire or Soltek Golden Dragon - but it's blue.
Small niggles; no SLI support. only one PCI-E x16 slot (The other slot runs in PCI-E x4 mode) The mSATA is puzzling too. Why would anyone pay for a 20GB mSATA SSD, when they could get a faster 80gb SATA SSD instead?
A nice motherboard with plenty of features. Not that great for multi-GPU arrays though. Single graphic card users will be fine.
Yeah, I like it.
