Good camera - Great price!
operating system:Windows 7Had this up and running for a few days now. Camera came well packaged and with software disk and manual.
The lead to the camera is about the size of coax cable but there is a large moulded RJ45 connecter attached so the hole through the wall needed to be large about the size of a 2p piece. So be warned, you will need a large masonary drill bit!
Once done and with the camera plugged in I installed the software. It picked up the camera on my network with no problem and I was soon viewing the pictures from it.
I tried to integrate with other cameras I have but could not as the software did not pick the camera up. After doing a bit of research I found that it will pick the camera up as an Airlink101. So if you wish to integrate it as I did you will have to use 3rd party software such as ispy or ip camera viewer which are free to download.
The picture quality is good although the colours do appear a little 'washed' when viewed against more expensive cameras. The motion detection is also a little simplistic in that it covers the whole of the viewed picture and you are unable to isolate it in the usual way using small windows. You could possibly do this using 3rd party software but you may have to pay for the privilege.
When the camera switches to its black and white night view it really comes into its own. The IR-LED's work really well giving a viewing distance of about 50 metres before it gets a little too fuzzy, although you would struggle to pick out a face at that distance!
All in all a good camera and although it does have some limitations with the motion detection, you will not do better for the price.
Be warned that there is little if no support from the manufacturer such as firmware updates etc but if you are looking to set up an IP camera system at your own home with one or even a few of these using its own software you will not do better. For that reason and the price of it I will give it 5 stars.
