£200.. well spent :D
operating system:Windows 7ordered this yesterday, came next day on next day delivery :)
i found NO reviews on this monitor ANYWHERE so im guessing this'll be the first review ever :D
i bought this monitor for gaming (PC)
came in a basic box the contents are has follows
1x VGA cable (not much more than a metre in length so very short)
1x monitor :P
1x 3 prong power cable
1x 2 prong power cable (both again very short)
a disc that i didnt even look at completely un-needed.
now on to the monitor :)
the buttons are touch sensitive (must keep finger over them for about 1 second) they have a nice feel to them
the monitors menu is very.... simple, it litarally only has 3 modes.
you have the ability to switch between DVI and VGA.
(there is no HDMI only VGA and DVI)
VGA and DVI can still output 1080p i would'nt worry about it.
standerd = very smooth when reading, nice and bright also
internet = less smooth and slightly darker
game = very sharp, to sharp and very bright, seems that they messed up the contrast etc.
but im not to fussed has with the PC these can be adjusted using your Nvidia control panel or the ATI version of the control panel.
i give it 9/10 for my needs
cons
1. very short cables.
2. the very crude menu system with VERY limited options (no fine tuning).
3. the stand is not adjustable in any way.
pros
1. the display itslef is very very nice, superb for gaming or browsing the internet or watching a movie.
2. crazy cheap compared with other monitors with equal display quality.
3. the frame seems built pretty well, got some waight to it
4. sitting on the desk it does look pretty good, nice matt finish very smooth to the touch.
5. the veiwing angles side to side are very good :)
conclusion.
the picture quality, whites are white, blacks are black, it really does look very nice it really is perfect for gamers on a budget or if you want to put 3 of them in surround.
the monitor is well presented and well put together.
hope you found this usefull :)
and i highly recomend this monitor i am very happy with my purchase. :D
thanks again ebuyer, great has always ;)
Great Monitor for the Money
operating system:Not ApplicableBought this to upgrade to a larger screen, previously using a 22 Inch 1080p LG Flatron.
I was initially worried about the lower dpi compared to a smaller monitor of the same resolution , however I'm finding this to be an ideal size / resolution combo for my needs. Far easier on the eyes and neck for general purpose computer use I find. For Gaming and Movies a jump up to 27" is noticeably an improvement.
The colours on this monitor need to be tweaked both on the monitor and on the calibration software to achieve good results, the factory settings were not usable for me, but after a bit of tweaking I have got the colours spot on.
The touch controls and menu system are basic but functional, and the LED backlight is streets ahead of the older non LED LG it replaced.
It also looks superb on my desk, the finish is carbon coloured, sleek, and simple , combined with the size this will really set your desk apart from the rest.
Conclusion:
For £200~ this is a great buy, if like me you are upgrading to a larger monitor from perhaps an older monitor with the same resolution you'll undoubtedly be impressed by the clarity the additional few inches gives without sacrificing quality.
For gaming and Movies this is a no brainer at the price. Personal preference may come into play for general computing, though I will say again that I need not have been concerned with the lower dpi since text and images look great.
Fantastic monitor for its size, I'm considering getting a second for dual screen enjoyment!
absolutely stunning
operating system:Windows 7like a previous reviewer, i bought this monitor to replace my 3 year old 22 inch LG monitor.
i was initially concerned with the lack of reviews regarding this model and wasnt really expecting too much. however now that Ive set it up I have to say its nothing short of stunning. the size increase from 22 to 27 is very very noticeable and the screen is absolutely giant in comparison. my first impressions are that its very bright (probably needs adjusting) and the other modes (internet and gaming) are definitely not usable as they are too dark and too contrast-y. the touch buttons are very sleek and nice but a little bit of a fiddle to use when navigating the menus. i watched a 1080p bluray movie and was blown away by the quality in the dark scenes and have nothing but praise for this monitor.
didnt get any dead or stuck pixels either so im well happy :).
the ONLY downside is that it comes with 2 years warranty instead of the usual 3 that samsung, viewsonic, etc provide (called phillips support to confirm this). but I suppose at 200 quid this is a good 50-100 quid cheaper than any of the other brands so its a fair trade-off in my opinion.
with all that said, dont let the lack of reviews dissuade you! I put this review up specifically to help prevent that. this truly is an excellent monitor and an absolute steal at the price. 5/5
Great monitor for the price and size
operating system:Mac OSXWas wary about purchasing as the price was rather cheap compared to similar sized monitors by other manufacturers.. however worries were unfounded. Great monitor straight out the box (after you've turned down the default brightness.. yikes). Build quality seems good and it's very light... and as always Ebuyer delivery faultless. I almost fancy another one to sit alongside it's so cheep. Although perhaps a little overkill....
