Fantastic card
operating system:Windows 7This sound card is amazing for the price, it offers much better sound quality than onboard sound and is worth every penny.
Do take note that this card supports 5.1 surround sound and not 7.1. For me this is a plus because i can have my headphones and surround sound plugged in at the same time, and with just one click in the Sound blaster control panel, i can switch between the two.
I have used this card for over a month and i never want to stop listening to music, the sound quality is fantastic. Whenever i listen to music on my ipod, i can distinctly recognise areas that are not pronounced as well as using this sound card and i generally do not enjoy listening to music without this sound card.
Using the crystal voice gives much better clarity than without it and the voice morphing does works well to some extent, but i dont have any need for that.
Overall this card is amazing value for money and is very easy to setup and even connect to your front panel audio ports.
The control panel is very easy to use and installing was simple.
If you plan on buying this card then i suggest buying a good pair of headphones as well, i currently use the sennheiser hd 558. However, whilst using my £25 headphones, i find that it still gives much better audio quality than without the recon3d.
I recommend this card to anyone wishing to upgrade from onboard audio, although i am not entirely sure how much better it is to the x-fi range which is the previous sound cards from creative
