From Good to Bad to Brilliant
operating system:Windows 7This tablet has been a bit of an ordeal, but in the end I am so freaking happy I bought it.
Researching the tablet was difficult, there was virtually nothing about it on the internet. What helped me was finding out that it is exactly the same as the Scroll Excel tablet, just with a cooler name. Basically reviews for the scroll are essentially reviews for the astro. I also discovered that there is another identical tablet called the MoMo9 after purchasing.
Upon first opening the tablet, I was wowed. It actually looks really nice. It feels really good build quality. I did notice that the camera is slightly off centre behind its glass window but that's a purely cosmetic problem that isnt actually that noticeable.
After powering up the tablet i was chuffed, it was actually quite powerful, games play beautifully. I used it all day and loved it. Battery life feels quite short, but I just plug it in overnight so its charged for the morning.
....Now here comes the ordeal. The day after I got it the tablet became an unusable piece of junk. I was browsing the internet and it suddenly rebooted itself at random, When it came back on it rebooted again, and again, and again, and again, you get the point. Apps always closed themselves mid use. In particular the browser and the market seemed to give it a heart attack. These random reboots seemed made the tablet completely unusable at its worse. The Wifi would often be dead after a reboot, untill you manually reboot it yourself. I installed antivirus software, which picked up no viruses, and I factory reset the thing about 5 times over a few days, which if anything made it worse.
I scoured the internet for any solutions, but they were non-existent. I started preparing to return the tablet, however i did another search on solutions the day before I was going to send it off.
I found a solution. As it turns out, someone had made an Android 4.0 rom (Sorry if not a rom I dont know about this stuff) for the MoMo9 which is an identical tablet.

I followed the instructions this gave me and now I have a £99 Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich tablet!!! It was pretty scary installing ICS on it because i didnt really know what i was doing, but it was so worth it. There are no performance issues that I have noticed yet running ICS. It is a really stable OS with no resets (well one when i first installed it but that doesn't count).
I have probably voided the warranty doing this but I cant be more happy with the result. Ive probably doubled its value just by installing ICS.
Overall I would definitely get this and take a risk installing ICS.

operating system:Not Applicablegot this today, stright plug ang play, working very smooth and pretty fast. Capacitive, 1.2ghz Compared to the main stream tablets, i.e samung 7" HTC etc. I can fault this on price and spec. Also the best thing is that it supports IPLAYER!!! Hey I am happy, I have seen plenty of 7" tablets on ebay, amazon for under £100 or the ones from china, but for a little more money its worth a shot. Recommend!!! Also with micro sd card expansion port just bought a micro sd card from Ebuyer to get the disocunt carraige as well.!
For just over £100 defo worth BUY!!!

operating system:Not ApplicableFor the price this table is great however when using it I first noticed the 4gb on the device was partitioned 2 x 2gb, basically after speaking to ebuyer and doing a little research you get about 2gb of usable space as the remainder is system and backup files along with software that comes with the unit. I purchased an micro SD card anyway so ultimately you can have upto an additonal 32gb plus you can use a usb stick if needed.
The device seems well built and for the money is fast has market installed etc along with iplayer and flash.
After using the device and not really installing anything further I notice it kept restarting and freezing, after some reasearch I beleive this can be a common problem. On looking at the ebuyer forum linked from another review on this page I discoved this device is identical to the MOMO9 tablet. This tablet is also upgradable to andriod 4.01 ice cream sandwich. After a quick google I decided to installed this on the tablet, all went fine took about 15 minutes however does completely wipe the orginal operating system. Since this upgrade my tablet hasn't crashed and it works brilliant there are issues with flash 11 as iplayer doesn't really work but video / audio sync is much better along with web performance. The other benefit is now I have over 3gb available space on the tablet itself.
One thing to remember when upgrading is follow the instructions as per the review on the ebuyer forum and make sure you don't download and install the chinese version.
I now have a stable fast tablet at a fraction of the cost of others in the market.
