An excellent piece of kit
operating system:Windows XPThis joystick/throttle combo is packed with buttons, toggles, switches and other features. It is excellent in IL-2, Battlefield Vietnam, Lock-On: MAC and many other games. Also, the software that comes with it is excellent. For example, BF:V didn't recognise the twist function for rudder, so I mapped it to the mouse, then using the programming software, made it emulate the mouse. Then I assigned gradients, deadzones and mouse acceleration adjustments to fine-tune. Macros of any length can be assigned to each button, each button has three modes, each mode has a shift function, and all profiles are changeable on the fly, meaning that each button can have infinite commands assigned to it.
This may seem like overkill, but, if like in IL-2 you have multiple planes, each with different characteristics, you can assign a different profile to each one.
Build quality is superb, the base is of part-metal construction, and the joystick and throttle themselve are constructed of durable plastic and given a smooth, but grippy, rubberised panneling where the device makes contact with the hands.
Both units are powered off a single USB, which connects to the throttle via a fixed USB cable of a about 1.5 m. The joystick connects via a 4-pin mini-din cable which is under a metre in length. Both units are loaded with cool blue LEDs, the throttle has an Multi Function display which displays button/command (depending on profiling), mode,time/stopwatch and date.
The controller itself is the best flight controller I have ever used on a PC. The joystick has no-contact on the X and Y axis, which means the controller is very light and responsive, and will take about a week to get used to if you are used to the logitech joysticks that are equipped with mattress springs.
Buying this controller is the first step, mastering the software is the second. The third depends on how good you are...
A very versatile piece of equipment
operating system:Windows XPThe X52, is wonderful, it has a high build quality all over including the buttons, and the axis. I was concerned that due to the lack of weight normally found in a non- force feedback joystick I would be floating around the desk, but not so the stick and throttle have a good degree of weight, and don’t appear to slip about, even when your battling with a stalling 747 in Flight Sim or dog fighting in Lock: On!
The Multi Function Display is also a welcome feature to this stick; with a quick press of the ‘clutch’ button on the throttle it is possible to select pre- recorded profiles on the ‘fly’ (excuse the pun) or simply find out what each button is programmed to do.
One final thing the software is great, and there a number of profiles which are provided by Saitek on disc supplied as well as their website, but it is very easy to simply create your own.
SUPERB
operating system:Windows XPhope this is of some use.
i got the x52 about 3 months ago, at first i found it a bit daunting really... soo many buttons an switches lol. But now iv got used to it i gota say its SUPERB!! if u like your flight sims but cant/dont want to stretch to CH an the like i cant recomend this enough.
a little tip if u do go for it, start simple! jus use a few buttons until u get used to things, then jus a few new functions at a time, dont forget uve got sumthing like 70+ buttons with the diffrent modes here. still havnt found a use for all of em tho :) BUY IT

The X52 is an excelent buy!
operating system:Windows XPI bought this stick after seeing a freinds X45, he is now jelous! I play X3 (Egosoft) a space flight sim with trading factory building & a good amount of fughting. So needs a lot of buttons!
I have managed to configure a profile within a day & it all fits nicely, no more taking my eyes off the screen to use the keyboard!
With its cool looks, especially with all the lights lit up in a calming blue, I promise you will love the X52 when you see it for real!
