Never let me down
operating system:Not ApplicableAs a DJ I need some reliable CD-Rs and these fit the bill perfectly.
I've played them in all sorts of equipment and they are perfect.
These are good
operating system:LinuxI've used a couple of boxes of these. Can't remember having any problems.
Good for backups
operating system:Windows VistaUsed these to back up some of my original games that are getting a little scratched up in their old age.
My playstation has no problems reading these whatsoever - but i do write them at the reduced speed of 16X for increased reliability.
Disappointed for first time ever with Verbatims....
operating system:Not ApplicableI've always bought them (both cd and dvd), never ever had one bad disc let alone a bad batch (must have gone through at least 500 discs).
Ordered one of these as it's a good price, received it, upon opening I took the top disc and burned an image, error. Took the disc out, upon closer inspection could see a deep small mark penetrating both layers of the disc. Looked through the pack and LOTS of the discs were the same. Was always one (or two very close together) deep marks in the same area, which I suppose suggests some kind of problem during manufacturing.
Set up a return and got another pack, which was a bit grubby inside, few discs toward the top of the pack had dust and bits of other small debris on them! Very strage, I've always found them to be pristene. as if packed by a robot in a vacume. The surface of the discs look fine though so I think they will function normally.
Was everyone in the verbatim factory drunk that week or something? so the Verbatims will have to get 2 stars here. Only 2 because when something has been pretty much perfect for so long then you get this, it hits you hard.
It won't put me off buying Verbatims though and I would still recommend them to anyone, just have to give them 2 to show they aint perfect.
