Meet your new storage solution, the safe and expandable Drobo. It's so simple that anyone can use it, yet powerful enough for business. Drobo connects to your computer or network and provides redundant data protection without the complexities of traditional RAID.
Dynamically expand storage any time. Drobo currently holds up to 36TB, depending on the model, using any combination of 3.5" disk drives or 2.5" drives for the Drobo Mini. The Drobo family offers Thunderbolt, USB 3.0, Ethernet, iSCSI, and other connectivity options, so you get the data protection you need along with the speed and interface you want.

DAS = Direct Attached Storage
- A DAS solution means only devices connected to it can see the storage unless you get the host software to share the storage (say by Windows mapped drives). If any device the storage is connected to it is turned off, no other PC or server on the network will be able to reach it. Typically DAS is blocked based, the firmware on the DAS device is limited to presenting the storage and nothing else. Examples of DAS are: USB, Firewire, SAS & SCSI

NAS = Network Attached Storage
- A NAS solution means any device on the network can see the storage and connect to it NAS devices are usually feature rich and work more like network servers in that you can run software packages and other functionality on them. Unlike DAS, they provide a combination of file and block to host machines. NAS protocols include SMB/CIFS, NDS, AFP,ISCSI
