Key talking points
Expanded storageThis is the easiest and most convenient way to expand storage capabilities of Apple's portable devices – remember, they don't have USB ports or memory card slots! This means more music, videos, photos, documents and anything else. This meansÂ… more fun!
Share abilityAll the content of Wi–Drive can be easily shared and used at the same time on 3 devices. Users can even view the same content at their own pace. As an example, 2 users watch the same movie on their iPads, allowing a pause for a nap and resuming anytime they want, when a third one is listening to the music whilst viewing photos on an iPhone.
PortabilityFlash based storage ensures no data loss with accidental drops, bumps and knocks. Thanks to the 4 hours battery time, all the content of Wi–Drive can be used and shared everywhere! Convenient "iPhone size" and small weight makes it easy to carry, even in a pocket.
Great product designInspired by Apple's products – it's a great portable storage companion which perfectly matches high style expectations of current Apple customers.
Competitive Comparison

Capacity500GB – until you drop it!This cheeky comment, as with any hard drive comparisons, still applies. Mechanical storage is prone to easy physical damage andÂ… data loss. 500GB is a lot to lose.No internal storage. Users need to buy their own memory card. Two comments on this:
1. Although AirStash has a similar cost to Wi–Drive, there is an additional cost for the memory card.
2. Variable card performance can bring various user experience results. Wi–Drive's onboard NAND has been specifically selected for optimal user experience – no stuttering etc. with maximum performance possible.
500GB – Hard drive (HDD) based.Varies – 2GB free storage is a common option. There is an expansion option – paid. Usually users don't like such solutions due to annual fees, instead of a single payment. Also, requires Internet connection to access your data. Mobile Internet connection speeds are much lower than Wi–Fi.
MobilityHeavy! 4 times heavier and 3 times bigger! Hard to fit in a pocket and easy to drop and damage. On par with Wi–Drive.None! Lack of battery makes it a stationary solution.Available anywhere, as long as users have Internet connection. Mobile Internet connection often results in poor user experience compared with Wi–Drive though.
Internet access whilst using the deviceNo such option for both of these devices. Once you connect with them via Wi–Fi – users lose any Internet connectivity. Wi–Drive allows bridging connections with other Wi–Fi devices, hence allowing listening to the music from Wi–Drive and browsing the Internet (for song lyrics for example).N/AN/A

  1. How do I transfer files from my computer or Apple device to my Wi–Drive?
  2. The Wi–Drive comes with a mini-USB to USB cable that is easily connected to a computer. Once connected, you can simply drag–and–drop or copy–and–paste to transfer files.
  3. Can I connect my Wi–Drive to multiple computers?
  4. Yes. Wi–Drive is similar to a USB drive in that it can connect with any USB 2.0 compliant computer. Operating systems include: Mac OS v. 10.5.x+, Windows 7, Windows Vista (SP1, SP2), Windows XP (SP3), Linux v.2.6.x+.
  5. Is there software included with the product? What do I need to get started?
  6. To get started you only need to download the free Wi–Drive app from the Apple App Store. No special software is needed for your computer as Wi-Drive will appear as a normal storage device and can be used in the same way as you would use a USB drive for instance.
  7. How does my iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch connect to my Wi–Drive?
  8. 1. Turn on the Wi-Drive and you will soon be able to find and connect to the Wi–Fi signal using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    2. Once connected, simply open the Wi–Drive App on your device and you're ready to go!
  9. How many people can use Wi–Drive at once?
  10. Three individual compatible Apple devices can utilise Wi-Drive simultaneously – and all accessing different content! Beyond average use, such as simultaneous sharing of video with more than 3 users, the responsiveness of playback may vary.
  11. Will Wi-Drive let me play MP3s on my iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch?
  12. Yes the Wi-Drive App will let you play MP3s directly without the need to transfer your music into iTunes.
  1. What file types are supported?

  3. How long does the battery last?
  4. Under normal operating conditions, the battery life is four hours.
  5. What is Wi-Drive's signal range?
  6. The signal range is approximately 10 meters (Wi-Drive utilises 802.11 g/n Wi-Fi)
  7. Can other devices pick up my Wi-Drive signal?
  8. Like your household Wi-Fi connection, other users will be able to see the signal, however, they are not able to access your files if Wi-Drive is password protected. Password protection is easily configured under "settings" in the Wi-Drive application.
  9. Can I browse the Internet while paired with Wi-Drive?
  10. The Wi-Drive's Wi-Fi transmitter allows for both Upstream (Internet) and Downstream (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) transmissions. This means that you can connect to your wireless Internet network or hotspot while the Wi-Drive is connected. Unfortunately you will not be able to access mobile internet (3G etc) while Wi-Drive is connected as the compatible Apple devices do not allow for 3G and Wi-Fi to operate simultaneously.
