New solid state drives designed by Active Media Products for better compatibility and reliability have arrived in the market.
The firm's latest PATA ZIF SSDs - SaberTooth ZT - is a rugged solution for industrial, embedded and network computing applications that require compact and high-speed storage capabilities.
The SaberTooth ZT measures 2.8 x 2.1 x 0.2 inches (71 x 54 x 5 mm) and comes in 32GB and 64GB capacities. It can achieve read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 85MB/s respecitvely.
The PATA/IDE interface supports PIO mode 4 and UDMA mode 6, as well as SMART commands and ECC.
The two drives are also equipped with wear levelling and block management technologies, which increase endurance and boost reliability.
Active Media's PATA ZIF line also comprises other models such as the SaberToogh Z and the SaberTooth ZX.
With the PATA/IDE units, bootup and application load speeds of the drives will be improved, it will produce less heat and consume less power than hard drives.
It will also make no noise since the units are built with no moving parts.
