Remedy's long-awaited action title Alan Wake looks set for a global launch in May 2010.
Industry website MCV says sources "close to the game" confirmed that the Microsoft-published adventure would be promoted "in the style of a Hollywood movie".
The title, first announced in 2005, got its most comprehensive showing at the E3 earlier this year.
It tells the story of a writer who searches for his missing wife in the idyllic yet incredibly creepy town of Bright Falls.
Described as a "psychological action thriller", Alan Wake will be presented in an episodic format, similar to a television show.
The game is expected to be released first on the Xbox 360.
