Asus is set to launch the Eee PC 1201N, a multimedia netbook that features a twin-core Intel processor and Nvidia graphics.
The in-built Nvidia Ion card can reportedly handle complex 3D programmes and will allow the streaming of 1080p videos from YouTube "as proficiently as a high-end desktop PC".
Intel's dual-core 1.6Ghz Atom 330 processor, recently used in the company's Eee Box 1501 mini PC, means the 1201N also boasts decent processing power.
The 12.1-inch device has 750GB of storage capacity - a 250GB internal hard drive and 500GB of online Asus WebStorage.
Asus bosses say the 1201N, due to hit the stores in January with a price tag of £399, features 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 0.3-megapixel webcam and HDMI video outputs.
It also sports a six-cell 63Wh battery rated at 5 hours and LED-backlit 1,366x768-pixel display.
