The Garmin Nuvi 3790T has been named European Satnav of the Year at the European Imaging and Sound Association awards.
This is the second major accolade won by the device, since its launch in April.
It comes with a 4.3-inch multi-touch LCD display and can be used in both landscape or portrait modes - and its screen was one of the reasons for its success, as well as being "slim and sexy" and able to cover 44 countries.
Clive Taylor, Garmin's director of product, said the reaction to the gadget from the global media has been brilliant.
He added: "This satnav really has style, substance and personality which go beyond anything available in the market today and we are very proud of it."
Other similar offerings from the brand include the Garmin Nuvi 3750, which has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and includes a trafficTrends mode which enables the product to learn daytime routes to improve its estimated time of arrival predictions.
