HP to release exclusive 3D laptop

HP is set to release a whole new range of laptops, including an exclusive 3D model.

The 3D laptop, called Envy 17 3D will come with features such as an extra large storage capacity and unbeatable graphics and memory.

3D technology requires a great amount of space and therefore the laptop comes with a built-in 2TB of hard drive space. The quad-core Intel Core i7 processors and Advanced Micro Devices' ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics card will help run 3D content like Blu-Ray 3D movies and High Definition video without any hiccups.

The 17.3-inch 3D display, speakers and subwoofer will be enough to appease even the most die-hard movie fanatics.

HP will also supply 3D active shutter glasses which will connect with the laptop wirelessly so that 3D content can be viewed. However, the laptop can also be viewed with the naked eyes by switching on the 2D mode.

The laptop, which will come with two hours of battery life, will come at a high cost of $2,000 (£1,298) and may be released during the 'holiday season', according to Cameron Duncan, an Envy product manager at HP

The company has also launched its first netbook with Intel's latest N550 dual-core processor, with a speed of 1.5GHz.
