Latest version of Tidy Up! released

Hyperbolic Software has upgraded its hard disk cleaning tool Tidy Up! with around 50 new features including additional search criteria and improved interface.

Tidy Up! 2.1.2 uses an advanced search algorithm to scan for duplicated files and packages on mounted drive volumes (hard drives, optical discs and portable drives) without writing an index.

Files are searched using a wide range of criteria including owner application, time created or modified, name, label, extension and content. A Basic Search mode comes with over 90 predefined search types.

There is also an option to exclude any supported applications such as iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture and Mail from the search.

The software offers a "Smart Basket" to identify specific items and organise them. Users can trash, move or archive duplicates, as well as export a list of found items as HTML or text files. Trashed items can be replaced with an alias or symbolic link.
