A new Apple iPod touch was launched yesterday (September 1st) which comes with an array of additional features, such as a retina display and FaceTime video calling modes.
The former function has 960 x 640 pixels - four times the amount as the previous model - and is designed to make pictures, video and text appear clearer.
Consumers will be able to use the FaceTime video app to call other iPod touch users via Wi-Fi as the device comes with a front-facing camera and mic.
Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, said the company has included its most advanced technology in the new gadget.
He added: "Whether you're listening to music, playing games, making FaceTime video calls, browsing the web, capturing HD video, or watching TV shows and movies, the new iPod touch … is more fun than ever."
Those looking to purchase other products from the manufacturer might be keen to note that last month Rich Brown, writing for Cnet, awarded the Apple iMac summer 2010 version full marks for its design in once-over.
