"Plenty to like" about Toshiba laptop

Those shopping for a new laptop may find there is "plenty lo like" about one particular model, if one expert is to be believed.

According to Andy Vandervell in a recent piece published on the Trusted Reviews website, the new Toshiba's Satellite U500-178 is equipped with technology that makes it fast.

In addition, he said the notebook had a wide range of attractive connectivity features, as well as the benefit of being compact and portable.

The expert was testing the highest-spec model available and noted that buyers can expect a 13.3-inch screen with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 processing and a 500 GB hard drive in this version.

He went on to say 4 GB of RAM memory keeps things ticking along nicely while an nVidia GeForce G210M graphics chip helps with facilities such as gaming.

"There are plenty of other reasons for cheer, too," Mr Vandervell added. "This version has the ever sought after backlit keyboard, as well as a smart slot-loading DVD drive."

Trusted Reviews put the laptop's U400-189 to the test earlier in the year and concluded that all-in-all it was a "decent effort".
