The Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE film scanner has been "solidly made" and is "well designed", according to one writer.
Trusted Reviews' Cliff Smith said the "compact" device has been made with the environment in mind because of its white LED light source, as well as the standard halogen bulb and the chassis feels "robustly constructed".
He added: "Anyone who's used a film scanner before can't help but be impressed by the compact size and speedy operation of the 7600i SE."
Setting up the scanner is "simple" and it includes a USB 2.0 port and a Plustek Application CD-Rom.
People who like digitising snapshots may be interested in the QuickScan features and the SilverFast software produces "excellent" results.
Other offerings from the manufacturer include the Plustek Smart Office PL3000 scanner, which has a feeder capacity of up to 80 pages and an ADF and flatbed scanner operation.
