Japan-based firm Sega has announced that its latest action title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PS3) will go on sale across Europe on January 8, 2010.
The much-awaited Bayonetta was critically acclaimed by the press at this year's E3.
The video game, which is already launched in Japan, has achieved a perfect score of 10/10 in Edge and a 40/40 from Japanese gaming bible Famitsu. The game will release in North America on January 5, 2010.
A demo for the new third person action title will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network across the US and Europe on December 3 this year.
Sega European marketing director Gary Knight said: "Developer PlatinumGames has delivered a true masterpiece.
"The recent perfect review scores in such highly respected magazines as Weekly Famitsu and Edge show the sheer quality of this title. We firmly believe that Bayonetta will go on to become one of the all-time benchmarks in action gaming."
