Sony launches new PC speaker system

Sony UK has launched a new PC speaker system with high-quality sound and effective bass, which it claims is ideal for movies, music and gaming.

The SRS-DB500 2.1 channel, which is known as 'MU-TE-KI' meaning 'invincible' in Japanese, is powered by the Sony-developed S-Master digital amplifier technology, which also features in Walkman products and Hi-Fi systems.

It uses all-digital amplifier technology which accurately recreates the original sound, leaving behind any inaccuracies of analogue-to-digital signal conversion.

In comparison to the conventional analogue amplifier, the SRS-DB500 reduces power consumption by up to 85%.

Sony said that the 300W power output as well as richly-detailed sound reproduction makes the system ideal for party music through MP3 or CD player.

In addition, the bass cabinet features a built-in 'Deco' lighting effect with three different illumination modes.
