THQ has announced it is planning a sequel to Darksiders, as the publisher revealed that sales of the recently released game had met expectations.
Action adventure title Darksiders has sold 1.2 million copies since its release on the Xbox 360 and Wii last month.
Its sequel has been named Warhammer 40000 Space Marine and is among several titles lined up for next year, including new games in the Red Faction and Saints Row series.
THQ chief executive Brian Farrell said: "In fiscal 2011, we plan to ship two major core games, Homefront and a sequel to our Red Faction franchise.
"We also expect to see accelerated growth with three major core games titles scheduled, Warhammer 40000 Space Marine, a sequel to Darksiders, and the third generation of our popular Saints Row franchise.
"We also expect continued growth in our fighting, kids, family and casual businesses, as well as a significant growth in our digital business in fiscal 2012."
