The Asus P7P55D-E Premium motherboard is the one to buy if you want a "future-proof" start to your next PC, according to one commentator.
Ardjuna Seghers, writing for Trusted Reviews, says the device is "a great all-rounder with some excellent features and obvious future-proofing" and gave the device maximum marks for features.
It has an Intel P55 chipset and can handle 16GB of DDR3 memory, which runs at "impressive overclocked" 2,200MHz at top speed.
The motherboard comes with a USB 3.0 port, which is "definitely worth it" as well a USB 2.0 port
Asus' TurboV is described as a "great little innovation", which gives the user around two metres of cable after it is plugged into a socket above the CPU.
The operating system boots "in less time than it takes to say uncle" and the result is an interface that allows the user to browse the web and make Skype calls.
Other motherboards available from Asus include the Rampage II GENE, which uses the Intel X58 /ICH10R chipset.
