Newbury-based telecom giant Vodafone has unveiled more handsets under its own brand name.
The eight new handsets are targeted at European prepay customers as well as emerging markets, and are expected to hit the shelves around Christmas time.
Vodafone, which claims it has already sold over 20 million of its own-brand mobile phones, has added a range of new features to the current line up.
The new handsets, which sport touch screens, and incorporate internet access and cameras, are meant for the lower end of the market. This was made possible due to a deal with semiconductor supplier MediaTek.
The newly-unveiled phones include three additions to the Vodafone 533 Catwalk range, which was launched earlier this year. One version of the Catwalk collection is available in a metallic red. Another, is a "Lady" handset, sporting an image of an artist's impression of girls about town. The image was created by Berlin-based artist Tomek Sadurski.
The cream of the collection however, is the phone that Vodafone developed in conjunction with Crystallized, with crystals embedded into the black slider case. The phone also features Swarovski Elements animation on the screen when the handset is switched on.
