Ideal for Media Centre PCs
review by: Mike W rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows XP

As this wireless, USB keyboard has an integrated track pad like those found on most laptops, it does not require a separate mouse. This makes it ideal for Media Centre type PCs built on standard Windows XP as you effectively have the keyboard and mouse on your lap. Having built a media centre PC recently using a Shuttle case and Hauppauge digital TV card running on standard XP, I was really frustrated having to find somewhere to put the mouse in the lounge. Not anymore. This is the perfect interface device for a Multi-Media PC. Usual efficient service from eBuyer too. Excellent bit of kit. Highly recommended.....just about to order another!

Great value and performance
review by: Richie rating:

I too needed a keyboard and mouse combination for my media centre in the front room. I use the Microsoft TV style remote to control media centre which is very good, but occasionaly I need to surf the internet or change settings, hence the need for a keyboard/mouse combination.
I thought as the microsoft hand held remote was so good I would buy the Microsoft keyboard too.
Big Mistake !!
The microsoft keyboard is total garbage because the mouse doesn't really work and the connectivity is infrared. Its one thing to point a remote towards a receiver .... not as easy to point a keyboard and type !
The touchpad on this keysonic is as accurate as my laptop and the keys have a better feel than the microsoft. It connects through radio frequency too which is a whole lot better than infrared !
If you need total control of your media center then it doesn't get much better than this.

WORKS GREAT WITH MACS!

Was recommended this from Mike W...Just bought a new Mac Mini and plugged in the Keysonic and it works a dream! No drivers needed just plug and play. Only set it up yesterday and the only niggle I have is the lack of the disc eject button, I am sure I will figure out the command though. Great delivery as usual from Ebuyer

Yes, it works fine in Linux
review by: Anonymous rating:

operating system: Linux

Just to agree with an earlier reviewer - it works without any fuss at all in Linux. I just booted up and everything was working, including the scroll bar and touch-tapping. And that's with the ordinary mouse driver - amazing. But that's Linux for you. Whereas Windows started making "pop" and "clonk" sounds and throwing up "found new hardware" balloons and generally behaving as though it was having a panic attack and having to breathe into brown paper bags. But it got there in the end. And that's Windows for you. ;-)

By the way, that's a reflection on Windows, not on the keyboard, so a deserved 5 stars.

One more thing

Just one thing to add to the other reviews of this excellent product. The legends are painted onto the keys so I guess eventually they'll wear off. You wouldn't want to use this keyboard for heavy data-entry :o) But for MPC or occasional use it's fine. Recommended.

operating system: Windows XP

Philip Broughton-Mills said: "my own fault for not considering it, when my PC goes in to power-saving mode, it turns off its USB ports so I can't use this keyboard to wake it up again"

i to had this but found this tool:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~hveijk/mst/indexe.htm

which can insert a registry change quite easily which enables the keyboard to restart out of standby so im really happy with it now, great keyboard so thin it even slides under the sofa for storage

Excellent keyboard

Ive recently setup a media centre pc connected to my TV in the living room. This keyboard is excellent for this purpose, keys are solid, keyboard is small, compact and light, and the inbuilt mouse pad works a treat.
The scroll buttons on the pad are very useful.
Also works along with other wireless keyboards/mice youve got plugged in, i play counterstrike and so have a seperate wireless logitech mouse, both the logitech and the keysonic work hand in hand, just use the one that best suits the job.

I have been searching long and hard for a wireless keyboard with built in mouse control for my Mac Mini.
This keyboard works a treat. No setup; just 'plug and play'. A brilliant product at a brilliant price.

KeySonic 2.4Ghz Wireless Compact Keyboard with Integrated TouchPad
review by: Rob M rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows XP

I’ve never written a review - ever, but have been compelled to do due to this gem of a find.
I needed a reliable wireless keyboard and mouse that I could sit back in my livingroom on the couch viewing my Media Centre pc on the LCD telly and be able to navigate easy on it. My current HP wireless keyboard & mouse were ugly and bulky didn’t look to go on the coffee table, also their performance were rubbish. I wanted something like my Laptop with an integrated touch pad. After a lot of searching I came across this little gem. I’ve had it for 3 days now and its performance is excellent.
Plug & play.
Range: it works at 4 meters (room size).
Doesn’t have to be in view of the USB sensor.
The touch pad is very good, responsive.
Also as a neat little search bar on the touch pad so you can scroll pages down.
It looks good is the same size as a laptop keyboard so its neat and compact but easy to type with.
Its slim but not to slim that its un-sturdy.
Also its light in weight.
Tested the batteries and there still fully charge after 3 days, so battier life is excellent too.
For the price this is a quality, quality item.
