Great Speakers
operating system:
Not ApplicableThese speakers sound fantastic, I was a bit iffy at first on spending this much on a set of 2.1 speakers - however now they're setup I have no regrets. My music sounds unbelievable on these, really jaw dropping when I listened to it the first time - and they get loud enough without distortion too...
Easy to setup, nice long cables. If your a fan of bass, don't have the sub resting on carpet - make or buy something to put it on. As I'm up first reviewing these, thought I'd link to some outside reviews:

Great Speakers
operating system:
Windows VistaI was a little hesitant spending this much on PC speakers initially, but after having used them for a few days now I don't regret the purchase. The (tiny) satellite speakers produce a very crisp, clear sound - a noticeable improvement over my older 2.1 speakers, and the sub is capable of some serious bass, without being overpowering.
In summary, these are great speakers, and worth the money if you're into your music or gaming. AE are a British company too.
PS: The sub is pretty large, and stands nearly as tall as my monitor while being fairly deep, so make sure you have adequate space!
Awesome
operating system:
Windows XPThe sound quality that you'll get through this system is awesome. There's a good crisp top-end, warm bass sound and a satisfactory mid-range. The fidelity is especially impressive at loud volumes - it's hard to believe that the sound is coming out of such an unassuming system!
The cables for the satellites are of the kind of quality you'd use for a separates system, and they're a decent length too, meaning that you have a good deal of freedom where you put them.
The amp/bass unit is as solid as the satellites (which are surprisingly heavy for their size) and the volume control knob has both a satisfying click, but most importantly a very smooth motion, allowing for decent control of the volume.
The bass unit has a three-position selector for the level of bass you desire, which is a novel touch.
It also has 3 inputs: left, right and centre channel, with a third output for the centre as well should you wish to use it. Not quite sure how that works - if anyone knows how to get surround soundcards/AV systems to output in 3.1 please let us know!
One thing that's slightly annoying is that the satellites don't have any rubber on the bottom, so the slightest touch on my smooth-surface desk and they get moved.
Also - I experienced a good deal of crackle from my system - however this has turned out to be nothing to do with the amp or my Xfi soundcard. Turned out to be because I had it plugged into a surge protecting power strip... PLUG IT INTO A WALL SOCKET!!!
Good Speakers are Heard and Not Seen
operating system:
Windows VistaSpeakers are impossible to decide on, but when I saw these I had a feeling that they were going to get the better of me in the end. 100 pounds is a lot to pay, but your looking at around 60 for the next step down (Creatives offering) and they still have faults. So in a moment of madness, I bought these, but having just had them delivered (rapidly, I might add) I am very happy I took the plunge. You have no idea how long I agonised over this decision. No regrets. After all, if you put 100 pounds in a room, it definitely wouldn't sound this good.
These are fantastic speakers, with a solid build construction, understated design, and huge sound for their size. The sub is average sub size, but the satellites are tiny, just bigger than a credit card on the grille face. You will be surprised by how loud and clear they are, and so will your neighbours.
If it helps to convince anyone, this is the first review for anything I have ever written, but just wanted to reassure anyone out there who might struggle with decisions like this as much as I do.
Brilliant Product
Great Ebuyer Service
Superb
operating system:
Windows XPI got these a while back now, fantastic speakers, probably as close as you'll get to hi-fi for the money. These were a massive improvement on my old creative 5100's. Even games sound more detailed for £90 nothing comes close.
Fantastic - Buy Some
operating system:
Not ApplicableBought some of these speakers as I had to get rid of my panasonic 5.1. Sound quality is amazing, you'd think they were £200+ not £90
Use these in the living room for my TV, DVD etc
Sub has a built in amp which powers the 2 speakers
Highly recommended
p.s they can go very loud and the bass is super
Best 2.1 System for you Pc period!
operating system:
Windows VistaBought these for my dad after being recommended to buy them over the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 set...
Upon receiving these i was amazed with the quality of these little speakers, but my god did i underestimate the power!.. the speakers sound crisp and clear... bass is good without being too boomy..
The speakers are made by a quality Hi-Fi manufacturer... so are designed with quality in mind rather then just endless power like the z-2300 which sacrifices on clarity.
Ive now ordered a set for myself!!
Don't Hesitate!
operating system:
Windows XPI've read all the reviews for these speakers and had to wait until the money was available. Anyway, I ordered them a week, or so, ago and have used them with my computers and MP3 player... I prefer the sound quality and size to any of the sound systems in our house (NAD, Cambridge Audio or Teac). Sound is crisp and detailed (even though AE's site says that the top of the frequency range is 16 Khz - I've heard worse systems with 20 Khz top-end) and the bass is adjustable by a 3-way switch at the back and there should be a setting to suit most listeners. You can permanently wire one device (Computer?) to the back using the supplied 3.5 stereo jack to stereo phono lead and if you want to override this connection you can plug the supplied 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo jack lead into the 3.5 stereo socket beneath the top-front volume control and connect it to an MP3 player or other device.
I can see that being so versatile and having such good sound quality, build and appearance... this speaker system could easily replace a whole range of basic sound systems.
I know that some people love surround systems (The Aego T System 5.1 system - with even better specs - is available from Ebuyer for over 6 times the cost if you've got that kind of money)... but I would be quite happy using this system for virtually everything in our house.
If you're contemplating getting a speaker system for use in a normal sized room then this 90w RMS system will fit the requirements of all but the most pedantic of listeners.
As most revews here, and elsewhere state,... Don't think about it, just order them... you won't be disappointed. I'm saving for another set.
Brilliant
operating system:
Windows VistaI've bought a lot of great stuff off ebuyer but this may be the best.
Search the internet, you won't find a bad review.
They sound so clear and full, perfect for music, gaming, and movies.
They also look beautiful, understated and classy.
I would be surprised if you could find a set of speakers this good for under 200 let alone for this price.
Amazing
operating system:
Not ApplicableThese are aesthetically very pleasing to the eye, with the alloy tweeter units rounded and no larger than the typical size of a cup, and the old school AE logo. They look very special.
The sound is good, potentially not a lot better than my Sony speakers. Playing some Maria Callas through them, she sounded a little quiet: comment on these speakers is that they lack a little in the mid range. But thats because the bass is huge, and potentially because the Maria Callas recording is so old. Certainly, listening to jazz on Classic FM at 1 in the morning, I was blown away by the representation of the music.
Great to be able to buy British and to know that its amongst the best out there.
Once I have the cash and am a pipe smoking old codger, I will be getting their top end speakers for a special hifi system. AE is definitely the way forwards for speakers.
For GBP 100, these are very economical for the performance.
