Compatibility

For a Microsoft Windows-based PC
To use Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical and IntelliPoint mouse software with the scroll wheel and all programmable buttons, you need:


    One of the following operating systems:
- Windows® 98 or Windows Me - Pentium 133 MHz or higher, 32 MB of RAM
- Windows NT® 4.0 (no USB support) - Pentium 133 MHz or higher, 64 MB of RAM
- Windows 2000 Professional - Pentium 133 MHz or higher, 128 MB of RAM
- Windows XP - Pentium 233 MHz or higher, 128 MB of RAM


    25 MB of available hard disk space


    Round mouse port (PS/2 compatible) or USB port (USB requires Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP)


    CD-ROM drive


    Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 with Service Pack 2 or later (Internet Explorer 5.5 browser software included; requires 45 MB of additional hard disk space)

To use Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical and IntelliPoint mouse software with the scroll wheel and all programmable buttons, you need:

- Mac OS 10.1-10.1.3 (excluding Mac OS 10.0)


    15 MB of available hard disk space


    CD-ROM drive


    An available USB port

*Microsoft Optical Technology performs best on surfaces with detail to track.
It will not function on surfaces without visible detail (e.g. glass)
or surfaces where it will see its reflection (e.g. mirrors).
The sensor may also have difficulty tracking on highly-repetitive
patterns (e.g. some printed glossy photographs).
