Just the job!
os:
Not ApplicablePerfect, very easy to install under windows XP, just pop it into a spare PCI slot, turn the computer on and XP installs it, that's it, no doing anything more. Maybe different for other OS's though, but it does come with a mini cd with drivers for win98.
Works great + one surprise
os:
LinuxPlugged into my Fileserver. Turned on. Worked without any issue. Excellent.
Nice surprise though. The card is listed as 5 port (1 Internal and 4 External). However that small black panel to the right of the internal port (on the photo) is a set of usb pin headers.
I've not tested the header yet but it looks like I should be able to connect it to my cases front socket. Handily enough it's also labeled on the PCB (+5v -D +D GND) making my life a wee bit easier.
Does exactly what it says!
os:
Not ApplicableFrom box to pc in 5 mins - XP found it and installed all the drivers. Cinch to install. Great way of giving a bit of extra life to a system that lacked USB 2.0!
So easy
os:
Windows XPPlug into a spare pci slot, and bootup, 4 extra usb 2.0 ports. XP picks up straight away.
Excellent Card
os:
Windows XPCard worked fine for me, I would advise downloading the drivers first from :
http://drivers.viaarena.com/VIA_USB2_V270p1-L-M.zip
Picks up in WinXP a treat, excellent !
Works fine
os:
Windows VistaBought this for my aging socket A PC. Plugged it in, Vista found it straight away as a Via USB chipset hub and everything worked fine. Have a WD 250Gb mybook, keyboard and Joytech game pad connected.
No problems and Vista compatible. Cant go wrong for the price.
Great with Win98
os:
Windows 98Having failed to get a network card working with Win98 first edition I bought this only to find that the box said 98/SE. However, having downloaded the drivers (no CD) it was working in no time at all. The on board USB ports on the machine have never worked correctly, so now I can transfer data without the need of the network.
One, but not two
os:
Windows XPFitted two as i was just so fed up of hubs and cables and daisy chaining the 14 USB 2 and 3 USB 1.1 devices I use.
One card on its own was fine but two caused nothng but problems on my old ASUS a7n8x deluxe. Tried swapping cards because thought one might be faulty but no there both ok.
Time for a new MB or even PC.
Works with Windows 2000 SP4
os:
Windows 2000This card has the VIA chipset on it and works fine with windows 2000 SP4. Got 3 external drives and a wireless USB dongle attached to it without problems. Wish the ALI chipset was as good.
Great value
os:
Windows XPI bought 2 of these for 2 different computers (both Windows XP).
The installation was easy, however Windows XP didn't pick up the device on either computer. Device Manager came up with "RAID Controller" but couldn't find the drivers.
Downloaded drivers from
http://drivers.viaarena.com/VIA_USB2_V270p1-L-M.zip
Restart both PCs, and it worked!
Now it works! Thank you eBuyer
